The Race Continues

The Hare And The Tortoise

Part 1:  Once upon a time, a hare and a tortoise decided to settle their rivalry with a race to the hare's home five miles ahead.  The hare shot ahead, and recognizing that the tortoise was far behind, decided to relax for a while.  The hare fell fast asleep, while the tortoise overtook him, and finished the race.

Moral: 'Slow and steady wins the race'.

Part 2:  The hare realized that he had taken things for granted, and was over-confident.  So he challenged the tortoise to continue the race back to the starting point.  The tortoise, thrilled from his past experience, agreed.  This time the hare ran without stopping to the starting point and was an overwhelming winner.

Moral:  'Do not ever race with fast and furious'.

Part 3:  This time the tortoise realized that the rules of the game are not in his favor.  So, he challenged the hare to continue the race further until his home a mile ahead.  The hare, confident of his capability agreed.  The hare began running ahead at top speed, but found a river ahead.  He could see tortoise's home just across the river, and wondered how to pass the river.  In the interim, the tortoise prodded along, got into the river, and swam as to the opposite bank, and reached his home to finish the race.

Moral:  'Use core competencies to suprise the rival'.

Part 4:  The hare and the tortoise now knew each other's core competencies.  They decided to run the race from the hare's home to the tortoise's home across the river.  This time, the hare carried the tortoise to the riverbank, and then the tortoise swam across the river with the hare on his back.  Thus, both reached the finishing line much faster than feasible otherwise.

Moral:  'Create a level-playing ground, and focus on accomplishing your strategic intent, not defeating your rivals'.

This Story And The 60 Day Challenge

The part 4 of the story is what the 60 day challenge is all about. If you still wondering what is a 60 day challenge, then let me tell you that the 60 day challenge is the brainchild of an exceptional, genius and a very helpful hubber Sunforged. You can read more about the 60 day challenge here. The aim of the 60 day challenge is to create a level playing ground and use one's strengths and expertise to help everyone who is participating in the challenge. The challenge is all about writing quality content and achieving your goals. The purpose is not to outperform each other but to help each other prosper and achieve their goals. The challenge would be very beneficial for hubbers like me who lack the necessary knowledge about SEO and SEM. By the end of the challenge I believe every participant would learn to effectively promote his hubs.

Benefits Of 60 Day Challenge:

As Sunforged puts it,

The 60DC is:

This 60-day HubChallenge is more aggressive approach to writing hubs and following up with the proper promotion of them to optimize results. You will be strongly encouraged by your fellow hubbers to stick with it because it will benefit the entire group.

The 30 Day HubChallenge is like going to the gym a couple days a week where this 60 Day Challenge is like having a team with a personal trainer 7 days a week.

Infact many hubbers including me have already started reaping benefits. My traffic has increased and I have almost completed 25% of my goals decided for this 60 day challenge. You can read about my goals and progress here, "60 Day Challenge - Make Money Online".

The other benefit for me was the chance of getting to interact with so many talented and most revered hubbers. The 60 day challenge team has bonded very well and for me it's like an family. I have learned a lot from the likes of Sunforged, Mark Knowles, wavegirl22 and many others. I will get to know more about them as the challenge progresses. I am done with phase one now and can't wait for phase 2 to get started. I am sure it will be an exciting journey. I have more to add to this hub but due to time constraint will publish it a bit incomplete. I hope you enjoy the story. Also, I would like to mention that this is not my story(I know most of you will know it) and I don't know if it triggers the duplicate trigger. If it does then unwillingly I will need to unpublish it. But till then enjoy the hub. Will try to update it asap.

This was absolutely fantastic. I have been toying with the idea of doing something similar with some of Dr Seuss stories.
