60 Day Challenge (The Return) - Make Money Online
6960 Day Challenge - The Return
It is the return of the successful 60 day challenge. This challenge has created a lot of buzz and hubbers(newbies as well as experienced) have been excitedly waiting for this challenge. And adhering to the request, “Sunforged” – The man behind this awesome challenge has decided to hold the challenge again. Trust me, being a pioneer challenger, I have seen huge benefits of this challenge. Not only would your affiliate earnings would see a turnaround but the knowledge you would gained in the process would be immense.
Tips Related To Hublog
- It is better to write a 150 word summary when you publish a hub as you are into it and the words will flow out easily. Procrastinating it would mean studying the subject again.
- It is best to list hub summaries category wise as it really helps in the promotion phase. Though you can publish your hubs at random, but have one text capsule for each category. That way, you can publish hubs at random and still have the summary category wise.
And as I have already taken the challenge before, I won’t be repeating mistakes I did in the previous challenge. Though I won’t spill all the beans, but I highly recommend that you create a separate hub for hub summaries and list them category wise. It would help immensely during the promotion phase. You can have a look at this ideal summary hub by a fellow pioneer challenger, Susana S. This hub is going to be my progress log and I would be updating it daily. It will list all my activities and work related to the challenge. I would definitely need your support in this and would definitely love to interact with my fellow participants. So, if you have any queries and suggestions do let me know. And wish you all the success for the challenge.

Before You Start The Challenge
Before you start your journey and start publishing hubs, make sure that you have done proper research. To gain maximum out of this challenge,it is necessary that you have done proper keyword research and make sure that you write in only 3-5 niches, though that's not compulsory but would definitely help in ranking and make you look authority in that niche. Confused on how to do proper keyword research, read this amazing hub by Sunforged

How The First 60 Day Challenge Benefited Me:
- Earned $87 during the 60 day challenge.
- Earned $31+ in Amazon Affiliate Commission
- Drastic improvement in my SEO knowledge and promotion methods.
Bonus: All the pioneer challengers have received a bonus from the challenge initiator Sunforged. He has offered 1 year free wordpress hosting to all the participants and each hosting account would cost him $50. That's truly generous of him and I would again like to thank him for it. And it is because of this free bonus by him that encouraged me to start my first site. Feel free to check my site: Buy Board Games
Right Approach For The Challenge
Well, the above title should have read my approach but I thought it might help fellow participants as well!!!
- Proper Keyword Research:
I can't stress how important is your keyword research. Honestly, If you have not done your keyword research properly you will see little or no benefit of this challenge. As Sunforged puts it, it is not about publish hubs, it is about publishing good hubs. And if you wondering how to go about doing the keyword research, don't fret any further. Remember, you don't find the Holy Grail, the Holy Grail finds you. So, read this Holy Grail hub on Keyword Research - How To Pick Keywords That Make Money by our 60dc leader Sunforged. - Write In 3-5 Niches:
There is no hard and fast rule that you should write only in 3-5 niches. Infact, as per the official guideline we had in the first 60dc, participants were free to write in 3-10 niches and It will remain the same this time. Though writing in only 3-5 niche definitely makes more sense so that you will have atleast 6 hubs on each topic. It will help in interlinking of hubs and it will also help you in promotion phase and blogs(can't spill the beans right now). - Proper Tagging Of Hubs(Tag Them As You Publish Them):
This is not directly related to the challenge but still would be very helpful, so would share it anyways. Whenever you publish a hub, make sure that you have them properly tagged. Don't procrastinate it and keep it for later. I have done it and as a result I have a huge backlog of hub to tag. Tagging is a very powerful tool to drive traffic and many hubber have reported a huge surge in traffic. And if you don't know what is tagging and how to tag, I recommend you read 'Hubpages Traffic - Use Of Tags To Drive Google Traffic' and 'Tagging Your Hubpages' - Don't Forget To Insert The Tags And Feeds Decided:
This is a very important step and make sure you don't skip it. Tags are an effective way to keep track on your fellow participants progress and helps in better organization. RSS feed is a powerful way of getting your hubs indexed fast. Imagine your hubs will be displayed on 30 participants' hub as soon as you publish them, creating a very powerful internal backlink structure. Also, set the RSS feed to show 8 hubs with one line description. Google will index your hubs within minutes. - Bond With The Team:
The biggest plus of the first 60 day challenge was the support system created by the participants. The team really bonded very well and all the participants helped each other in every possible manner. I am sure the trend would continue this time too. Infact, team bonding is very necessary for the successful completion of challenge and I don't have the slightest doubt that the new team will gel very well. Afterall, Hubpages is known for that!! - Complete All The Steps:
Last time, many of the participants including me did not complete all the steps especially towards the end. But we still saw huge benefits and that had me wondering that what if we had done everything as planned. So this time, completing all the steps as directed would be my first priority as I want to gain maximum out of this challenge. I am sure every participant would agree with me on this. - When Confused Follow The Leader And The Team:
I am certain that this situation will never arise, but if at all it does and you are confused on any step decided, then rather than speculating, just go ahead and do it. SEO is very confusing and you won't know what works till you try it. So try what has been decided and see for yourself if it works. You can always discard the techniques later. So whenever confused, just go with the team.
My Goals For The 60 Day Challenge - The Return
- To earn $5 on each of my 30 hubs in the course of 60 days. So that equals to $150 in adsense.
- I am not expecting much from amazon during the 60 day challenge as mostly I will be writing christmas hub but I am expecting $300 in each November and December. So, for this 60dc, I have set my target at a modest $100 and I think I would achieve it as I would be writing few halloween hubs too.
My Motivation For The Challenge
This time I am largely motivated by my success in the first 60 day challenge. The results were terrific and I am expecting to see atleast a 300% increase. Though to be brutally honest, my motivation boils down to one thing and that is....

Hubs Published - Week 1
Make Money Online - Recommended Books(Week 1)
The Challenge Starts
16 Aug 2010 - Day 1:
The challenge has officially kicked off and the 60 days of journey towards online success begins. For me the first day has been very fruitful as I have managed to publish 5 hubs. 3 hubs are in the christmas category and 2 in the business and jobs category. Though I havn't written summaries for them yet, but I am planning a separate hub for summaries and it would be up by tomorrow with today's hub summaries publish. I have lot of things in store for tomorrow, so hopefully tomorrow would be amazing as well. Stay tuned and cheer me on. And yea, the challenge has just begin........Be ready for surprises. Good night for today!!!
17 Aug 2010 - Day 2:
The day had been very hectic but I am happy that I was still able to publish 5 hubs. Though I could not put up my summaries hub but I have started working on it and it will be soon published. Today, I have published 3 hubs on halloween and 2 hubs on business and jobs. Tomorrow I would be completing both the halloween and business category. From tomorrow I would also start on my backlinks to revenue sharing sites. I hope I can continue with this pace. All in all the second day of this wonderful challenge was very satisfying and I am very happy with my performance. I have published 10 hubs and now only 20 more to go!!! It is 11:30 pm in India, so sleeping time. Have work tomorrow. Good night participants!!
18 Aug 2010 - Day 3:
Today is day three and it was not as planned. I could not manage to publish a single hub as other things kept me busy. I only managed to bookmark my one hub at Xomba,Shetoldme,Snipsly, and redgage. Though I am happy with my start and would like to move on with this single bad day. I hope to make up for it tomorrow. Today I have submitted the team feed to all the RSS submission sites and of anyone is reading it, I urge them to submit the feed as well and also to frequent the forums so that you don't miss out on important information. Well, nothing much to describe today. So would end it right here. Do comeback tomorrow. Bye. Night Night!!
19 Aug 2010 - Day 4:
It is day 4 of the challenge and I publish one hub today. This was my last hub in the business and job category. I will interlink them tomorrow. I also did some backlinking on revenue sharing sites. Was caught up at work and was catching with the team. Hoping for a more productive day tomorrow. I really need to speed up things now. So I am off to have my power sleep. Lets see what tomorrow has in store for me. Wish me luck and have a good sleep!!
20 Aug 2010 - Day 5:
Day 5 of the challenge was spent mostly on the dedicated 60 day challenge forum. I was trying to get in touch with my fellow participants and improve team bonding. The team is really shaping up well and the activity at the forum is increasing. I hope every does the steps as decided as it will benefit everyone. Nothing much to write related to hubs. Done some keyword research for hubs and did some backlinking for my halloween hubs. All in all a enjoyable day in the challenge. See you tomorrow!!
21 Aug 2010 - Day 6:
Day 6 and it is the second day that will see me publishing no hubs. But the day was enjoyable and chatted with my favorite hubber for hours which is rare as he is a very very busy man. Did some backlinking on adsense revenue sharing sites and was reading the discussions taking place in the forums. Also, was a suggested a amazing book to read and that read really made my day. The book is amazing. You can check the book here. worth a read. Time for sleep. Will see you all tomorrow!!!
22 Aug 2010 - Day 7:
I published my hub summary log today and did some backlinking for my hubs. I also have one halloween hub in the making which I am hoping to publish tomorrow. Considering my busy schedule I was happy with my challenge performance today and I hope I can better it tomorrow. Would have to really speed up now. Thats all for tonight. This completes the first week of the challenge and it has been a real exciting one. I am sure second week would be more exciting than the first with lot of surprises in store. Take care and night night!!
23 Aug 2010 - Day 8:
I managed to publish one hub on scary Halloween mask and with this hub my halloween category is complete. I also did some backlinking for my business category hubs and did some keyword research for the undecided category. I am not expecting much productivity tomorrow as it is "Rakshabandhan" here and having blessed with 3 brothers I am totally going to enjoy the day. I am hoping to catch speed soon. I think that would be it for today. Do come back and cheer me on. I need it. Till then take care and good night.
24 Aug 2010 - Day 9:
I was not online for the most part of the day. It was "Rakshabandhan" here and I enjoyed a lot with my brothers. It was a total fun day. Did nothing related to the challenge, so was kind of like a day off. Hope to make a comeback with new energy and vigor.
25 Aug 2010 - Day 10:
Today, was similar to yesterday. Had gone out. But I did manage to get some backlinking done of my 60dc hubs and managed to participate in the forums. Tomorrow would see me publishing hubs. Hope I can get my 30 hubs as soon as possible. That's it for today. Good night. Sweet dreams!!

Hi ES, good job and I am joining in again, Good luck to all of us! Maita
This is a really excellent overview of the challenge and example of a hublog - thanking you for going above and beyond as you have made my initial tasks much much easier!
Hi Natasha! Great to see a new challenge. And yes, even though the last part of the promo was not completed, that doesn't mean to say that it cant be done! Lessons learned and finding a new way has to be positive. I learned such a lot from the first time and the 60dc - let's face it - was a raging success! x
Raising my hubscore glass to you, my dear *wink and clink!*
englightenedsoul, don't forget to add your tags for the 60dc so they will show up on my feeds.
there are no tags yet Boomer
Good Luck ES! Never need to be embarrassed about needing to make $$$. Welcome to the world of a "money hubber!"
Skip the last comment i did not realize the hub-log tag had changed. :-(
look forward to particpating again & hopefully remebering my errors from the last challenge
My bg . .you never cease to amaze me. As always this hub is concise, smart and will be a great tool for all. SO very proud of you :)
For sure I will be back here reading and rereading this one! xoxox
Great hublog, enjoyed reading it. I have joined the challenge for the first time amd I am looking forward to it. I need to learn as much as possible about promoting my hubs so the second phase of the challenge is going to be a great learning experience for me too.
Wow! What a terrific, detail-filled hub! I'm so looking forward to learning the ropes from ya'll.
i think this line may cause confusion:
"Don't Forget To Insert The 60dc Tag And 60dc RSS Feed"
As there is no such thing as a 60Dc tag - There is a '60 day challenge" tag though
This hub log is great, ES, just packed full of info. I'll be coming back too :)
A wonderful introduction and you have me all inspired to do the challenge- a special thanks to Shari for all the support.
It was good to see a hublog from an enlightened 60DC'er. It is a bit daunting taking on the challenge for the first time. Just as it must have been your first time round. I wish to be an active participant so if I can be of assistance to you in any way please do not hesitate to ask. You have offered your services and I am sure I shall be taking you up on that offer at some time during the challenge.
Hey ES, what a great hub explaining what to do for the new challengers! I wish you every success with your goals :) I'm not participating with the challenge proper as it's just not a good time for me, but I want to help. So if there's anything I can do just email me - that goes for the other challengers too!
P.S. thanks for the link to my challenge log :)
I am totally looking forward to working through the challenge with you, ES!
enlightendedsoul, I look forward to working with and learning from you. Thanks and good luck!
Good luck with this challenge. I am debating whether to try again after my miserable performance previously. Hmmm.
Namaste.
Ok enlightened soul. I checked out sunforged's log, and I can feel my blood pumping with anticipation. I will be on the team, if there is still room, and this time, I won't peter out.
Namaste.
ES, will be joining you in this challenge, nice writing, have been following you for a while now..
Great stuff! I can see this challenge being great as I'm finally getting a bit of motivation out of seeing others hublogs....
To your success!!
Hey Englightened, I stopped by your hub earlier today, but didn't leave a comment, because I was in the midst of deciding on whether or not I was taking part in the 60 Day Challenge. With that said, I am now taking part and look forward to learning from you and working along side you. It'll be my pleasure to get to know you more as a side effect of working together. Awesome Hub Log btw. Thank you for your leadership role and being an inspiration to others. :)
ES _ I look forward to getting to know you better during this great adventure. I am so excited about it and cannot wait to get started.
This is a very inspiring hub. Have not published much since I joined because I signed a book contract and worked to satisfy it....65,000 words! Now I'd like to hub for money and earn some commissions...but still write with integrity. Thanks for the encouragement, even if indirectly at the moment.
Informative and inpiriring hublog! Thanks for all of the good information. You are one of the main reasons I stepped up to join the challenge. I'm really looking forward to learning from you and some of the other successfull hubbers! Good luck with your goals!
ES - Great starting point for a beginner (me!). I love the details. Thanks for the tips on my hublog too.
Looking forward to working with you again on the new 60dc team!
A cool, challenging hub. I realize I still have many things to learn but this hub's given more motivation to me to learn. Thank you.
Great hub enlightenedsoul! Really helpful, I'm gonna try and join asap!
smart move seperating your spreadsheets by category, Im going to adapt that myself for the challenge.
I write the spreadsheet offline in open office and upload it rather than actually use the code module functions.
Thanks for a lot of great tips as this will be my first challenge. Help will be appreciated throughout this challenge as I have much to learn.
Amazing hub and interesting challenge I love it
Wonderful hublog, enlightensoul, and thanks for sharing a picture from inside your money vault. :) Love your interview in our newsletter and I am looking forward to working with you on this 60dc challenge. Best wishes!
enlightenedsoul, I used your log as an example for making my own today. I was so nervous and I had no idea how to write the log (and I joined late!) but then I saw this Hub. It was a great deal of help to me. Thank you!
Good luck on the challenge!
Congrats on already publishing 5 hubs, I look forward the reading them. I have only managed one hub so far. The keyword research took longer than I expected but I am happy with that. As you state here in the beginning of your hublog there is not much point writing hubs without proper keyword research on them.
I hope to get 2 more published today but we'll see lol
Enlightenedsoul, I must thank you for such a detailed 60 day challenge hub log. Keyword research is my downfall, but with your tips on which hubs to read, I think I can get better at it this time. I hope you reach and surpass all of your goals this time around!
Good luck in your challenge and to more success.
You're doing great enlightenedsoul! you've certainly blown me out of the water lol I've only got two up so far!
You had good plan. But instead do all of this work by one people, you can hire someone to do the submit work, they will do daily for you. It will save your energy, and you will have more time to research or write a interesting for us. I had write a hub about this. Thanks for sharing your plan and good luck to you.
Me too... interested to join this challenge...
I have created the first one:
I know what you mean - There never seems to be enough hours in the day!
Never mind - we can catch up over the weekend :)
Greetings team member.
You are on an adrenalin kick, lol good for you. Cheers to sweet successes. Great hub and insightful information. Wishing you all the luck and Rated it up.
Great and usefull hub !
I am amazed at how productive you are!!! I'm struggling to catch up, but you're way ahead of the game. Good work!
It took me a while to get around to posting, but I'm glad to have you on the team. I'm sure we'll all achieve great success in our endeavors!
Your hub is packed with useful tips for wannabe 60DCer's. I've made a list of several other hubs I want to visit now! Thank you. Did you finish the challenge - make your November earnings? I hope so!
I wonder when there'll be another one?
Thanks for your comment ELS. Hopefully I can do one in February. I'd love to be involved.
During the last one I was moving countries so it wasn't all that convenient as I was a little bit busy!

englightenedsoul, fantastic job on starting your hub-log. I am so excited to start this again. After what was learned in the first 60dc, I know more money will be generated by us all. Good-Luck to you!
